Lauren is an RTS nominated self shooting documentary director with over 15 years experience, who delivers sensitively crafted and critically acclaimed observational, arts and specialist factual films. She has made singles, feature length documentaries and series to a range of broadcasters and streamers including NETFLIX, BBC, Channel 4, HULU, Disney+, VICE, Sky and YouTube Originals as well as directing branded content for Sony, e.l.f makeup and British Airways.
Her documentaries are character and narrative driven, giving insight to compelling stories with both emotional heart and humour.
She has conducted high profile interviews with Lewis Hamilton to Danny Boyle to Dame Joan Collins to Charli XCX and has collaborated with Banksy, Chris Smith and Spike Jonze.
Selected credits include RTS nominated BBC single Inside the Cage: Rise of the Female Fighters which looked at the rising trend of women entering the world of cage fighting, including embedding with UFC fighter Molly McCann to her first win in America, BBC2 Documentary The Alternativity which saw Lauren embed in the Palestinian town of Bethlehem, C4 series Adventures in Futureland that explored the then fringe subjects of the burgeoning cryptocurrency scene, webcam models, and child TikTok influencers, as well as Sky Arts feature doc Goldie: The Art that Made Me which was critically acclaimed for its honest and raw portrayal of the street art scene.
She’s worked on documentary shoots in UK, Europe, USA, Caribbean, Middle East and Asia and has no problem in adapting to local conditions. Her passion is in finding stories and characters in the most unlikely of places around the world, from refugee camps in Palestine to sex workers in Las Vegas. Lauren has significant experience in maintaining relationships with contributors in sensitive situations.
Her short form work has been viewed millions of times on VICE.com. In development she has worked on a number of sizzles, pilots and treatments which have been commissioned for BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Netflix.
